MY FIRST GEL CANDLE

I hope every one loves candles and would never miss one for their special occasions. They make the moment so romantic :)

Have you ever stared at those transparent gel candles during any of your window shopping sessions, then its time to make one of your own. They burn for more time than wax candles.

Don't worry about the materials. You will get it at your nearby craft shop.

To make a gel candle you can use any kind of glass bowl/cups. Here I've used the jar which I got with nutella and decorated it with some green coloured stones and some bamboo sticks in which our name is written.

Now place the wick in the middle and support the other end of the wick with a pencil as shown in the pic (otherwise the wick will move while pouring the wax). I added some dry leaves in between.

Take a small amount of gel wax in a pan and keep it in a low flame otherwise there is a chance for it to burn. For your safety I suggest you all to double boil it. ie, boil water in one pan and keep another pan with gel wax in it. It would take little more time than the normal procedure but its always safe. But make sure that the water is not going into the wax pan).

Once it is melted completely I added one small drop of perfume in it . After that pour it in to the glass jar slowly. This is done to reduce the chance of formation of bubble. (Don't worry if some melted wax is left. It will  harden very fast and you can keep it for later use).

It will take an hour for this to completely set. After that cut the wick as much as u want. Isn't it lovely???

I loved doing this, will come up with a coloured one later.

MAKE SIMPLE LONG FLOWERS USING RIBBON

Today Iam going to show how to make simple long flowers using ribbon

Did anyone know that we can make such beautiful decors using the ribbon which we used during our school days....

For making this you need ribbon (any color), fevicol ,green tape (optional) and broom stick.
Here i have used 1/2m ribbon. Cut it into 2 , lengthwise as shown in picture.

Now start removing the longer threads from it carefully , leaving a few strands at the bottom portion.

Paste one end of the ribbon with fevicol to the cleaned broom stick. Now start rolling the broom stick slowly and carefully like shown in the picture below...

Once it is fully rolled stick the end with fevicol. If u want you can use green tape that you use for flower making to cover the remaining broom stick .

To keep this I made a flower vase with an old wine bottle, which I decorated with hobby ideas 3d out liner...

WALL DECOR - using Cardboard rolls

Collect as many cardboard rolls as possible , no matter what size. Some thing as shown below (Broom packs, aluminum foil rolls etc...)

Then press them so that its easy to cut as shown in the Picture below.

Once you have enough of these cut pieces, either you can colour them with your favorite shades or you can apply wood coats, as done by me for this one.

Think of any simple design and start fixing them the way you want. I tried using fevi-quick but it was not able to hold for long. then I had to try stapling them which worked out good for me.

Once the design is complete and you have stuck every single piece together use small nails to fix them on the wall.

This one I have made for my sister.

Wall decor for kids room

Two years before i got a clock as a gift on my wedding. when we opened ,it was not working. We didn't dispose it, thought will make some thing creative. Result was this...

For making this i used Fevi quick and some small toys which i got from my niece and nephew .Thanks to them. You can use small toys that comes with kinder joy...

First open the clock using a screwdriver ( keep the screws safely because we need them to place it back)

Stick the toys in the place of time. leave it like that for sometime

 Close it safely

You can also do this in a working clock. But make sure that the time is visible while pasting the toys.

Next time i will come up with a new craft. Till then take care.
