DIY QUILLED MINI LEGS

Hi friends.. 

Today I am going to introduce you the art of Quilling.. For those who don’t know what it is, read the para below.. courtesy wikipedia ;)

Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create shapes which make up designs to decorate greetings cards, pictures, boxes, eggs, and to make models, jewellery, mobiles etc

 Saw this design in etsy shop… Couldn't stop making one...

Things you need

Strips of paper 

Glue

Quilling tool

Scissors

                                                                                                                                                           

 Here I have made two basic shapes in quilling..

First one is tear drop shape. To make this we need 2 big tear drops(2 normal length papers are used) and 2 small tear drops(one long paper is cut into 2).

Second shape is called tight coil

As  simple as that....

KERALA MURAL PAINTING- KATHAKALI

Hi everyone..

Today Iam going to share a Kerala Mural painting that I completed long before.. This is based on Kathakali.

Kathakali  is a stylized classical Indian Dance Drama noted for the attractive make-up of characters, elaborate costumes, detailed gestures and well-defined body movements presented in tune with the anchor playback music and complementary percussion.

DIY FRINGED FLOWER MAGNET

Hi all...

This post is for all the magnet lovers there..

Isnt it lovely...?

Things you need

Quilling paper strips

Quilling needle

Magnet

Glue

Take two paper strips of different width

Fold and cut the bigger paper like this

Now glue two strips together

Start rolling from the yellow side first using quilling needle and apply glue once it is finished..

stick magnet using glue at the bottom

I made one more magnet like this.. This time I used 2 colors in the middle..

I AM BACK :)

Hi friends!!

I know Its been a long time since I' ve updated my blog..First of all let me introduce this cute little boy who is making me busy these days…We call him DEV...He's influencing  me a lot on all my new works.

Recently we have shifted to a beautiful coastal city. A view from my balcony..

These days I get mails from so many friends asking me to do a specific project like mural painting, earring holder etc.. You can see those projects in the coming weeks.

I have been silently working on quite a lot of projects but didn't  have the energy to post them. From now on, you can find crafts for baby’s also… Coz of my busy schedule I will be posting more pictures with less description. If you have any doubt you can always mail or comment in the space below..

DIY RECYCLED HOLDER

Hey today I’am going to show you a 2mnts DIY project.

 Any idea with what I made this stuff? Its a mineral water bottle which we dispose everyday..

Nothing much to explain. First decide how much length you want for your vase/holder. Then cut the bottle with a small razor. Now put the bottle inside your favorite old socks......

Isnt it easy to make ? you can use this as a flower vase ,stationary holder etc. I have used it to keep my stationary items/toiletries.

MOTHER'S DAY SPECIAL- BLOCK PRINTED SARI

 
Dedicating this post to all the mom's who love sarees.HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY :)

These days painted fabrics are in fashion. For those who don’t know painting/drawing I will help you with an easy way out . It is called block printing…. You will get blocks from your nearest craft shop..The only thing you need is to choose a right design…

This project I did for my mom who loves sari more than anything in this world…  She loves doing paintings, stiching etc.... Actually she is the one who inspired me into this world of crafts...

Lets see how to do this block printing…You just need a cloth, fabric paints, design block , a painting brush and the material to do the printing.. Here I have taken my mom’s sari..

Place some news paper on a table and spread ur cloth over it.

Pour the color into a flat plate and dip the design block in this color. Apply it evenly on the block with the help of a brush… Now slowly press the block on the cloth. Repeat this process to make continuous patterns...

My mom was soo happy after seeing the final product.... :)

DIY BIRTHDAY DECOR

It was my husband's Birthday and as usual I started decorating my house at the last moment… I think my creative mind works only when I am pressurized.

I thought I will make a colorful garland that says Happy Birthday, to decorate my house… I didn’t have enough materials to make it, somehow I managed to make one with few old newspapers,

Take a newspaper , fold and cut it in your favorite shape.. Here I have made  a triangular shape..  

Now paint it with your favorite color….

 Once it is dried write the letters on them with a brush.. You can also use a marker pen…

 Finally glue these paper cuttings on to a thread/wool…. 

Now hang it wherever you want

In the picture you can also see some other stuffs hanging, they are just symbolic gifts :P

Isn't it easy to make.....
